World Snooker Grand Prix 2025 Makes Its Debut in Hong Kong 4,000 Tickets for exhibition showdown featuring HK stars will be distributed for free
(HONG KONG, 18 February 2025) Organised by World Snooker Tour (WST) and F-Sports Promotions Limited, and supported by the Billiard Sports Council of Hong Kong China Limited, the “World Snooker Grand Prix 2025” will be held in Hong Kong for the first time, taking place from 4 to 9 March at Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park. The event sees the world’s top 32 snooker players competing for the championship and world rankings.
Hong Kong’s top players will take on very special challengers in thrilling match-up exhibition matches scheduled to take place on the 8 and 9 of March, commencing at 11 am. On Saturday, the men’s exhibition match will feature Hong Kong’s star player Marco Fu going up against snooker legend “The Whirlwind” Jimmy White. On Sunday, a women’s exhibition match will showcase Hong Kong’s World No.2 Ng On Yee competing against Thailand’s World No.1 Mink Nutcharut.
To foster the sporting culture in Hong Kong and enhance community involvement in sports activities, as well as give more people an opportunity to attend major sports events, a total of 4,000 free tickets will be distributed for the two exhibition matches, with 2,000 tickets made available for each match. Tickets will be distributed to the Billiard Sports Council of Hong Kong China Limited, youth organizations, schools, and charitable groups. Some tickets will also be offered as giveaways on official social media to those who have already purchased tickets. The local billiards community and the public, who have never been exposed to the sport, can come together to participate in this international sports event, promoting sports at the community level.
Marco Fu revealed, “Jimmy White is my idol, and competing against him means a great deal to me! The free distribution of exhibition match tickets gives even more Hong Kong citizens the opportunity to experience the excitement of the sport of snooker, significantly promoting local snooker culture.”
Ng On Yee explained, “Nutcharut is one of the world’s top players and also my long-time rival. I’m thrilled to face her on my home ground for an epic showdown, and I promise to deliver an exciting match for fans!”

The “World Snooker Grand Prix 2025” is proud of being an “M” Mark event that helps enhance the image of Hong Kong as an international sports event capital. The “M” Mark is awarded by the Major Sports Events Committee, symbolising an intense, spectacular and signature event in the territory sports calendar.
