The world’s top players arrived in Hong Kong to attend the welcoming ceremony organised by the tournament organisers and supported by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. Before boarding, the organisers, along with distinguished guests and all players and their families, took photos with the championship trophy against the iconic skyline of Victoria Harbour, marking an important moment as the tournament makes its debut outside of the UK in being hosted in Hong Kong.

The organisers arranged for players to board during the dusk, allowing them to not only experience the illuminating colors of the sunset but also to be immersed in the stunningly iconic skyline scenery of Victoria Harbour. The participants were thrilled by Hong Kong’s dazzling views and expressed their eagerness to savor the city’s famed local delicacies. Over the coming days, the organisers have also planned a wide range of cultural performances and experiences, giving participating players the opportunity to fully explore Hong Kong. This will allow both players and fans to appreciate the unique charm of Chinese traditional culture, along with Hong Kong’s prestige as an international sports event capital.

Mr. Jason Ferguson, Chairman of World Professional Billiard and Snooker Association said, “We wish to thank the Hong Kong Tourism Board for their support, which has enabled players to experience Hong Kong’s extraordinary charm. Together with F-Sports Promotion Limited, we are honored to bring top-tier snooker events to the new Kai Tak Arena, which provides audiences with an exceptional viewing experience, in responding to the local community’s passion for the sport and leveraging Hong Kong’s position as the premier hub for mega events.”
