World Snooker Grand Prix 2025 Date: 4th – 9th March 2025 Venue: Kai Tak Sports Park Kai Tak Arena Co-organized by World Snooker Tour (WST) and F-Sports Promotions Limited, with the support of the Billiard Sports Council of Hong Kong China Limited (HKBSCC), the World Snooker Grand Prix 2025 will make its highly anticipated debut in Hong Kong. The tournament will take place from 4th to 9th March at Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park, featuring the world’s top 32 ranked players competing for the prestigious title and crucial world ranking points.
The World Snooker Grand Prix was first held in Llandudno, Wales, in 2015, and is regarded as one of the sport’s premier events, as only the top 32 players of the season qualify to compete.
Snooker has a long and distinguished history in Hong Kong. The 2017 Hong Kong Masters attracted an audience of 3,000 spectators, setting a record for snooker events at the time. The 2022 edition witnessed an electrifying atmosphere, with a record-breaking 9,000 fans attending, underscoring the sport’s enduring appeal and popularity. This year marks a historic milestone as the World Snooker Grand Prix tournament ventures beyond the United Kingdom for the first time, with Hong Kong as its new host city. 5,000 spectators will experience this premier snooker event live at the brand-new Kai Tak Arena., making it the largest audience ever for a World Snooker Tour event.
Furthermore, the prize pool has significantly increased from £380,000 (~HK$3.72M) last year to £700,000(~HK$3.86M), with the champion’s prize rising from £100,000 (~HK$980K)to £180,000(~HK$1.76M), both of which are the highest in the tournament’s history. – Venue: Kai Tak Sports Park Kai Tak Arena
